Initial rankings…where the site first showed up in Google after starting active promotions

Here is the first page in Google for a few of the target keywords, highlighting how many competiting websites there are. It ranges from 250,000 to 1.5 Million
Instead of moving up sequentially from the bottom of all those other websites…we achieved a first showing positioning in Google at #67 for the target keyword ‘boca raton personal injury’, essentially leapfrogging over about…oh, one and a half Million other websites vying for that phrase.
Now it’s just a matter of continuing promotions to jump ahead of the last 66 websites to take over the #1 spot so the client can start enjoying all that new traffic. I’ll update this case study post over the next few days and weeks until this initial project is done.
***UPDATE*** Here’s an exciting quick update, this is a screenshot that was taken yesterday, which is only two days after the above initial rankings report. At this rate we’ll have the top rankings for the target keywords in record time for this client.
***UPDATE*** Thursday 6-14-2012
Another very satisfying jump in the rankings today for this Boca Raton personal injury attorney client! We’ll push him the last few spots to #1 for the initial target keywords and then make sure the traffic converts into phone calls and newly retained clients. If need be we’ll recommend some onsite design tweaks to test in order to improve conversions. Then we will continue to strengthen and fortify his new positions and start working on expanding the project to target other related keywords and/or locations.
***UPDATE*** 6-19-2012 Here is a screenshot showing the updated rankings from a tool we use that provides more indepth, detailed, and accurate results on a weekly basis. This is from Saturday 6-17-2012
***UPDATE*** 7-15-2012 Well, between the last time this case study was updated and now there were some smallish incremental increases in the rankings, but then there was a significant jump across the board for all keywords, including moving onto and up the first page of Google for a couple of the main targets! Here is this weeks detailed ranking report for visual reference (click to enlarge).
Our end goal here at The Local SEO Expert is always the #1 position on the first page of Google…we never settle for ‘just first page’ as most companies do, because it is the #1 SPOT (not general page) that gets the lion’s share of the visitors clicking on their site.
That said, once you do hit somewhere on the front page and start moving up it, you do start to see at least some traffic which can turn into clients and cash.
I am expecting another update this week of the first #1 (spot not ‘just’ page) rankings and will post an update here when we achieve this.
***UPDATE*** 7-21-2012 This weekends updated ranking report, showing an overall increase across most of the keywords
***UPDATE*** 8-3-2012 First #1 ranking for a primary keyword target in Google! Beating over one and a half Million other websites competing for the same term.
